ABOUT US

The Key Largo Regatta is the brainchild of Jerry Creasman, Jim Signor, and Wes Tone, all Melges sailors and members of the Upper Keys Sailing Club. Regatta Chair Jerry Creasman is the current Commodore of the Sailing Club. Jerry has been sailing his own Melges 24 since 2005, and during a previous tenure as Youth sailing Director he, Jim, and Wes conceived the idea of a Melges 24 regatta held exclusively to raise funds for the club's Mark Sorensen Youth Sailing Program. The first two regattas were held in early December 2007 and 2008, but in 2009, it was decided to push the regatta into January 2010 in order to attract more teams on their way to Key West Race Week.
